The short version. The only information we get from this website is what you type into the quote form or the contact form — your name, your phone number, and whatever you write in the message box. We don't run ads, we don't use tracking cookies, we don't use analytics, and we never sell or rent your information to anybody. We use it to get back to you about lawn or surface work. That's it.
The rest of this page explains the details, because being specific is the point of a privacy policy.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Higgins Lawn and Surface ("we," "us," or "our"), a lawn care and soft washing business serving [SERVICE AREA HERE]. This policy covers this website only. It does not cover our social media pages, which are run by those companies under their own privacy policies.
You can reach us about anything in this policy at:

2. What we collect
Information you give us on purpose
Both forms on this site (the multi-step Free Quote form and the Send a Message form) ask for information. When you submit one, we receive:
- Your name: so we know who we're talking to.
- Your phone number: so we can call or text you back with a quote.
- Your message (optional on the quote form): whatever you choose to write. Some people include a street address or notes about their property. Only include what you're comfortable sending; we don't require an address to give you an estimate.
- Your quote selections: which service you want (lawn care, soft washing, or both), your approximate yard size, and how often you'd like service. These are just the buttons you tapped.
We do not ask for and do not want your date of birth, Social Security number, driver's license, bank account, or credit card number. Never send any of that through this website. There is no payment processing on this site at all.
Information collected automatically
This website has no analytics software, no advertising pixels, no Facebook pixel, no Google Analytics, and no visitor-tracking scripts of any kind. We do not build a profile of you and we cannot tell who you are unless you fill out a form.
However, like every website on the internet, the servers that deliver this page keep basic technical logs. Our hosting provider (see Section 4) automatically records things like the IP address making the request, the time, the page requested, and the browser type. That happens at the server level, is standard for all web hosting, and is used for delivering the site, preventing abuse, and blocking spam. We don't use those logs for marketing.
Cookies
This website does not set any cookies. It does not use local storage or session storage either. That's why you won't see a cookie banner here — there is nothing to consent to. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and add a proper notice before the change takes effect.
3. Why we use it, and what we don't do with it
We use the information you submit for exactly these purposes:
- To respond to your quote request or message.
- To contact you by phone, text, or email about scheduling, pricing, and the work itself.
- To keep a basic record of jobs and customers for our own business bookkeeping.
- To follow up if you asked to be on the soft washing waitlist.
We do not:
- Sell, rent, trade, or share your information with data brokers or advertisers. Not for money, not for anything else.
- Add you to a mass marketing list you didn't ask for.
- Use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
- Send your information outside the United States on purpose.
4. Third parties we use
We keep this list as short as we can. As of the date at the top of this page, these are the only outside companies involved in this website:
Netlify (website hosting and form handling)
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., and the two forms on this site are handled by Netlify Forms. This means that when you submit a form, your name, phone number, message, and quote selections are transmitted to and stored on Netlify's servers, where we then read them. Netlify also keeps standard server logs (including IP addresses) and may record submission metadata to filter out spam bots.
Netlify is a service provider acting on our behalf. They are not permitted to use your information for their own marketing. You can read their privacy policy at netlify.com/privacy.
Google Fonts (typefaces)
The lettering on this site is loaded from Google Fonts, a service operated by Google LLC. To deliver the font files to your browser, Google receives your IP address and basic browser information as part of that request. Google states that Google Fonts does not set cookies and does not use these requests to build advertising profiles. We do not receive any information from Google about you, and we have no account or dashboard on their end. Their policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Links we point to
Our footer and contact section link out to social media profiles and a Google review page. Once you click one of those links, you're on someone else's website and their privacy policy applies, not ours. We're not responsible for how they handle your information.
That's the complete list. No advertising networks, no email marketing platforms, no CRM, no chat widget, no heatmap tools, no A/B testing services. If we ever add one, it gets added to this section first.
5. Text messages and phone calls
When you give us your phone number through a form on this site, you're asking us to get back to you — so you're agreeing that we may call, text, or email you about your request at the number and address you gave us.
Agreeing to be contacted is not a condition of buying anything from us. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply. You can stop hearing from us at any time by replying STOP to a text, telling us on the phone, or emailing [EMAIL HERE]. We'll honor it.
6. How long we keep it, and how to get it deleted
We keep form submissions only as long as we actually need them — long enough to respond to you, complete any work, and keep the ordinary business and tax records a small business is expected to keep. Old submissions from people who never became customers get cleared out periodically.
You can ask us to delete your information at any time. Email [EMAIL HERE] or call [PHONE NUMBER HERE] and tell us the name and phone number you used. We'll delete what we have, with two ordinary exceptions: records we're legally required to keep (like invoices for tax purposes), and anything needed to resolve a dispute. We aim to handle deletion requests within 30 days, and we won't treat you any differently for asking.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have specific legal rights over your personal information. Rather than sort out which law applies to whom, we extend these to everybody who contacts us:
- The right to know what information we have about you.
- The right to a copy of it.
- The right to correct anything that's wrong.
- The right to delete it, as described in Section 6.
- The right to not be discriminated against for exercising any of the above. We won't refuse service, change your price, or give you worse service because you asked.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: we don't sell or share personal information, and we never have, so there's nothing here for you to opt out of. We also do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
To exercise any of these, use the contact details in Section 1.
8. Children
This website is meant for adults arranging services for property they own or manage. It is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information through this site, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. How we protect information
We've deliberately built this site to hold as little as possible, because information we never collect can't be stolen. Specifically:
- The whole site is served over HTTPS, so what you type into a form is encrypted in transit.
- There is no database, no user accounts, no logins, and no payment processing on this website. There is nothing here to break into.
- Form submissions live in our hosting provider's system behind a password-protected account, not on this web page.
- The site sends strict security headers (including a Content Security Policy) to limit what can run in your browser on our pages.
- Access to submissions is limited to the owner of the business.
All that said, no method of transmitting information over the internet is 100% secure, and we can't promise absolute security. Please don't send sensitive information — financial details, government ID numbers, passwords — through this website's forms. If you need to get something like that to us, call instead.
10. Artificial intelligence disclosure
In the interest of being straightforward about how this site was made: this website was designed and built with the help of an AI assistant (Claude, made by Anthropic). AI was used to write the site's code, its layout and visual design, its written copy, and the first draft of this privacy policy and our other legal pages.
Two things worth being clear about:
- No AI system processes your information when you use this site. The AI was a tool used during construction, the way a contractor uses a power saw. It isn't running here, it doesn't see form submissions, and nothing you type is fed to an AI model or used to train one.
- AI-generated legal text is a starting point, not legal advice. This policy describes our genuine, actual practices, and it has been reviewed by us — but it was not written by a lawyer, and it isn't a substitute for one.
The work we do on your property is done by people, not machines with opinions. Photos, pricing, and any promises we make about a job come from us directly.
11. Photos of work we do
We may take before-and-after photos of completed jobs to show our work on this website or on social media. When we do, we photograph the property, not people, and we don't publish street addresses, house numbers, or anything else that identifies whose home it is without asking you first. If you'd rather we didn't photograph your property at all, just tell us — before, during, or after the job — and that's the end of it. If a photo of your property is already posted and you want it taken down, email us and we'll remove it.
12. Changes to this policy
If our practices change — a new tool, a new service, anything that affects what we collect — we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. Meaningful changes will be called out on the site itself. Continuing to use the website after an update means the updated policy applies.
13. Contact us
